Building automation in Basel

GEA Ingenieure AG plans, coordinates and inspects building automation for new and existing buildings in the Basel region. Our office at St. Jakobs-Strasse 41 in Muttenz sits at the centre of the economic area between Basel, Baselland and Fricktal.

We work independently of system suppliers: concepts, tenders and inspections are carried out neutrally across all SIA phases 21 to 61. In the Basel region we particularly support campuses, industrial and laboratory buildings, where many stages, users and interfaces come together.

BA planner for Basel, Baselland and northwestern Switzerland

From Muttenz we support projects in Basel-Stadt and throughout Baselland (Liestal, Pratteln, Allschwil), in the Fricktal (Rheinfelden) and towards the Mittelland in Olten, Aarau and Solothurn. Planning is not tied to location: meetings take place on site, at your office or online.

Examples outside the city of Basel: Kantonsschule Olten, the BZU vocational training centre in Unterentfelden and the energy centre of Klinik Barmelweid.

Frequently asked questions

When is an external building automation planner worthwhile?

As soon as several trades interact or the system choice is still open. An independent BA planner produces neutral concepts and tenders, compares offers objectively and inspects the execution against the ordered scope.

What does GEA deliver on campuses?

We produce the master plan for building automation, ICT and energy management across all stages, define the site-wide management system as well as metering and billing concepts, and coordinate OT/IT interfaces with all parties involved.

Which SIA phases does GEA cover?

We support projects across SIA phases 21 to 61, from strategic planning to commissioning. With our planning modules Basic to Professional, the scope grows with the project; on request including support during the management phase.

Does GEA also optimise existing systems?

Yes. In energy and controller optimisation we analyse operating data, adjust controllers and reduce energy consumption and faults during ongoing operation, from waste heat recovery to optimising individual plants.

Does GEA also take on projects in Olten, the Fricktal or Aargau?

Yes. We plan and inspect building automation throughout northwestern Switzerland and the Mittelland, for example at Kantonsschule Olten, the BZU in Unterentfelden and Klinik Barmelweid. For longer distances we combine on-site appointments with online meetings.
