Frequently asked questions
Which SIA phases does GEA cover in building automation planning?
We support projects across phases SIA 21 to 61: from preliminary studies through design (phases 31 to 33) and tendering (phase 41) to realisation (phases 51 to 53) and operation (phase 61). The scope depends on the selected planning module.
Which documents does GEA produce in building automation planning?
The core is the data point list as the leading data source. On this basis we build the building automation concept and system description, topology and schematic diagrams, the function list and control description, the interface specification HVAC, plumbing and electrical (HLKSE) as well as the service description and bill of quantities for tendering. We also derive alarm and field device lists from the data point list, so all documents stay consistent.
Which labelling system is used to code plants and data points?
The building owner's labelling system takes precedence, for example based on the KBOB recommendation or in-house guidelines. If none exists, GEA brings its own proven labelling concept.
Which documents from the specialist planners can you work with?
PDF, Excel, Word, Visio and DWG documents from the HVAC, plumbing and electrical (HLKSE) planners are common. On this basis we produce a consistent and traceable building automation design; for BIM projects we agree the approach for each project.
